SL-Swin: A Transformer-Based Deep Learning Approach for Macro- and Micro-Expression Spotting on Small-Size Expression Datasets (Published)

  • Extracted and processed optical flow features to locate the facial expression intervals in videos
  • Used Swin Transformer as the backbone to predict a score denoting the probability of a frame being in a facial expression interval
  • Employed Shifted Patch Tokenization and Locality Self-Attention for the scratch training on small-size expression datasets
  • Outperformed the spotting task baseline (3D-CNN) of Facial Micro-Expression Grand Challenge (MEGC) 2021 and 2022
 

Remote PPG Signal Estimation for Heart Rate Monitoring by Using IntelRealSense D435 Camera (Ongoing)

  • Monitored the heart rate by estimating remote photoplethysmography (rPPG) signals based on facial near-infrared imaging
  • Improved region of interest (ROI) tracking by using semantic segmentation especially when only the side face is shown
  • Trained different models on Landmark guided face Parsing Dataset and evaluated the overall system performance
 

A Study for Optimal Device-to-Device Caching Schemes Considering the Quality of Experience (Provincial Project; Published)

  • Investigated caching schemes used in Device-to-Device communication technology in 5G for easing the pressure of base stations
  • Evaluated the performance of different Device-to-Device caching schemes in the same communication network model

  • Calibrated vehicle cameras using chessboard photos and upgraded the program from Python 2.0 + to 3.0 +
  • Calculated the Spatial Frequency Response (SFR) of vehicle cameras and made adaptions for tests on 2 ISO charts

  • Made a program-controlled DC amplifier with selectable gains of 0 dB to 40 dB and a bandwidth of 10 MHz by using the amplifier AD603 controlled by STM32 (Jul. 2019 - Aug. 2019)
